What do Russell Brand and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have in common?
No, this isn’t a set-up to a joke, unless you think the issue of income inequality is downright hilarious. And on Monday, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto called out the senator for sounding just like the comedian in going after the rich.
Cavuto compared Brand’s recent tirade against capitalism to Harry Reid slamming Republicans on refusing to consider raising taxes on the rich, saying “one’s a comic, the other’s got to be a clown.”
Cavuto called Brand naive and said if he’s so concerned about the “chasm” between the rich and poor, “maybe he should just talk to Reid, who’ll happily take all of his dough and leave him poor.” He went after Democrats for being so gung-ho about taxes but being unwilling to negotiate spending. Cavuto referred to recent comments by Nancy Pelosi and quipped, “I was waiting for the laugh track, but it never came.”
Cavuto concluded that the “mindless musings” of Brand are harmless on their own, but not when “acted out” by people like Reid.
